White Hart Graveyard by Arron Kasady
Graveyards aren’t normally the sort of place I would let the team visit. A lot of people expect them to be the most paranormally active places on earth when in reality very little happens there. Why would ghosts be active in a place of rest? The reason I wanted to go to the White Hart Graveyard however was because of something I believe I saw a year ago
I was on my home from work and instead of taking a bus as I normally would I decided to take a walk. As it was a lovely day I decided to cut through the cemetery (I find them to be the quietest places) to get home. One day on my way there I saw what looked like the figure standing by a gravestone. It turned, looked at me, raised its hand and right there in front of my eyes vanished without a trace.
So it was because of this remembering this that I took a few of the ghost team with me and headed down to the cemetery. With me was Ann, Katie and Russell and with us we took little more than a torch, camera’s, both video and digital, and our bravery.
Upon getting there I asked Annabel to see if she could connect to any spirits that may just still be haunting this place. It took Annabel a while to remove all external thoughts from her mind in a place like this. She told us that residual energy is rife in cemeteries as they are a very spiritual place and it is very hard to try to separate between what is residual and what it is active.
Without the need of and specialist equipment it felt like a very free investigation. We were able to move about easily (obviously without stepping on the gravestones) and not worry about setting off any alarms and such.
As she was trying to clear her mind Russell told us that he heard a small faint whisper in his ear which had made him jump. Annabel told us that we were not alone and asked Katie to take a picture of Russell we looked at the photo after we had finished the investigation and found that was a small light anomaly right next to his ear.
It was then that Annabel came out with something I would never forget as long as I lived. She told me that the spirit remembered me from the previous year and was interested in what I was doing here in the evening.
I was a bit taken aback by this; I had never had a spirit take a personal interest in me before. I asked out for this spirit to make her presence known to us it was then that Katie called out that it felt as if she had been brushed on her forehead. I thanked the spirit and asked it to tray again. Once again Katie claimed to have been touched lightly on the forehead.
I hadn’t told Annabel the story of my encounter with this spirit before so I proceeded to tell her there and then. Once she had finished hearing it Annabel smiled at me and told me that this was a female spirit who was very happy to see me again as I had the look of a very nice, kind person.
Astounded, I asked for the spirit to make herself known to me and to make contact with me try and talk to me like she had done with the other members of the team. Annabel told us that the name of this spirit was Emma. She was a lady in her thirties who had passed away through illness during the early 20th century, around 1910.
I asked the spirit why, if she had moved on did she continue to stay in this area. Annabel told me it was because the spirit lived and worked in this area surrounding the graveyard and liked to visit the area and remember the times from when she was still alive.
I decided that I would stand alone for a short while in the area we had made contact with the spirit whilst the others went off to visit further parts of the cemetery I asked one of the team to stay near and take photo’s of the area whilst I try to make further contact with Emma.
Whilst the others went off on their way I stood alone and started to speak out to Emma. I asked her to let me know that she was with me, the response I received was a light brushing feeling on the back of my head. I thanked the spirit and asked her to continue to make contact with me. This time I felt a slight tug on my sleeve and I could have sworn I heard a light murmur. I began to slowly walk away from where I was standing all the time having the feeling that the spirit was travelling with me.
I cam across Russell who had been taking pictures from afar and he showed me one that he had taken of me. Studying it I saw what looked like a strange line of light that behind me.
Annabel and Katie both returned with no more activity to report on although Annabel had been telling us that she had remained in contact with the spirit of Emma all the time. Emma had told her that she had been trying to get my attention by touching my hair and tugging the sleeve of my jacket!
As Emma didn’t need our assistance and was quite happy to be in the graveyard and to continue, to this day, to watch the goings on in the area she used to live in we decided to finish the investigation and leave.
As we began to leave the cemetery I asked the others to go ahead as I wanted to go back one final time. Alone, I thanked Emma not only for the night’s activities but also for that time when I was walking through this graveyard and she happily waved at me to let me know she was there. I told her that if I had some time in the future I may just come back and visit her again.
I intend to keep my word.
